I like Fantasy or action adventure novels. I am also 19 so it would prefer some more adult aimed books (but nothing too "sexually" explicit unless the story makes up foe it)
I have read These:
Harry Potter (i liked it)
The Wheel of time (it was ok)
LOTR (Awesome)
Howl's Moving Castle (Awesome)
A song of Ice and fire (couldn't finish the first book, too slow)
Cell by Stephen King (awesome)
Phantom of the Opera (Great)
Count of Monte Cristo (Good)

Don't suggest the following:
Twilight (I don't like reading first person)

In short I prefer books with a fast moving plot and good character Development. I would prefer a fantasy or action adventure novel or series, but if you have to you can suggest books/series from other genres.
Thank you for your help, I've been without a good for a while and its driving me mad. :D

Set primarily in an 1890s British finishing school for girls, they are about a 16yo girl who is able to go into "the Realms," a magical place with fantastical creatures who all want the magic (not to mention two rival human groups who also want the magic for themselves). Lots of magic, mystery, a little romance, they're very good.
Warriors By Erin Hunter
In the wilds of the forest, four clans of wild cats live, in ever balanced harmony, constantly teetering on the edge of battle. But there are some that would destroy that balance, and noble warriors are dying. A prophecy is uttered 'fire alone will save our clan', the leader Bluestar invites young house cat, Rusty, who longs for the life of a forest cat, to join her clan. But you never know what lurks in the shadows, and in order to protect his Clan, his friends and his life, Rusty, now Firepaw, will have to keep his eyes open, ears bricked, and mind alert.
It has it all
mystery, murder, (forbidden!)romance, betrayal, shifting allegiances, friendship, tragedy, prophecy, faith, hope ..gotta love it!.
it is a very long series, but devided into sub-series, so after the first 6 books, you can stop, ditto the next six, and the next.
they are desined for somwhat younger readers, but pleanty of adults read them too.
